Stand up paddle school in Vallon-Pont d’Arc

Rental of stand up paddle (SUP)

From 7 years onwards, able to swim.

Rent your SUP board and head off to discover the Ardèche river and it’s wildlife and flora. Our equipment contains lot’s of different board sizes which makes it easy to get equipment adapted to each morphology and level.

Tandem Sup are also available if you wish to practice together on one board.

The rental takes place on a calm part of the river.
Per hour or for the half day.

The rental includes :

• The equipment at your disposal :
  – SUP board (adapted to your height/weight)
  – Paddle
  – Lifejacket
  – Waterproof bag for your personal things
  – Helmet (optional)
  – Wetsuit (optional)
•  A 5 minute briefing about security rules and the bases of stand up paddling

The rental suits for people who already practiced watersports with a paddle.
You will navigate on a calm part of the river of 4km length.

Teaching (session with instructor)

All our sessions are taught by fully qualified instructors (for everybody who knows to swim).

Initiation : from 4 years onwards
The sessions take place on a calm part of the river.
We’ll do a trip of 1-4 km, depending on the duration of the session, in which we’ll teach you the base to get into it serenely.

For the more advanced we offer various playful exercices.
We start off a sandy beach with some shade for those who just come along and watch.

Descent with rapids : From 7 years onwards, you need to bring water shoes and a bottle of water.
We may require a verification of your level or an initiation beforehand.
For security reasons the mini descent (6km) takes place after 5pm in july/august : This allows us to avoid the big trafic of canoes and to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the landscape.

During the descents we’ll teach you to read the river : understand the different
depths, the speed of the courants, the obstacles and the adaptation of your position on the board .
For the more adventures we’ll have jumps of 2-4m.
During the breaks you may share our knowledge about the local wildlife and flora.

Descent 6 km : 2h30
Departure downstream from the Salavas-bridge, crossing of small rapids standing or kneeling, passing under the pont d’arc, arrival at Châmes.

Descent 12km : 4h
Departure from ‘plaine des Mazes’ (place of our initiation ).
The first 6km are an alternation between quiet water and canoe passes ,
we then do the mini-descent of 6 km with rapids and passing under the pont
d’arc.

Descent 24km : 1 day or 2 days with bivouac
Departure 1 km behind the pont d’arc, we’ll descent the canyon of the « gorges de l’Ardèche » immersed in the middle of the nature reserve and it’s protected environment. A succession of rapids class I and II (even III depending on the water level). The 2 day option gives us more time to fully enjoy this exceptional location. The night in the bivouac will satisfy those who are in search of
